Home team The Parksville Legion Bulls Hitters breezed through six sets against the Toolshed Triples, besting them 24-9. Bernie Brockway led the wins with five for five. Barb Marsh, Peter Spinks and Ray Jones won four games each, and Ray moved up the High Outs roster with a 97 finish. Toolshed’s Toni Crompton and Wendy Haines both won two matches and Mike McNulty led the scoring with a high of 125 and a 100, with Jim Hood shooting 119 and three 100’s.

Qualicum Legion’s Short Sighted Crew hosted the Parksville Legion’s Shooters, with the Crew outshooting the Shooters 21-12. Captain Don Punter had a perfect night, winning all five of his matches. Anne O’Sullivan and Steve Bird followed closely behind with four wins. Top scorer for the Crew was Steve Bird with a 140, 133, 126 and 125. The Legion Shooters’ Tom Ford doubled out five of his six games, and, along with George Wallis, shot a 125.

Working their way up the standings, the Qualicum Legion Warriors almost beat the unbeaten Cascadia Bristle Bashers chalking up 15 wins to the Basher’s 18. The Basher’s Captain Mike Driscoll, Steve Collins and Tedd Ducker each won four of six matches. Joining the short list of Perfect Scorers, Steve Collins added his name to the list – Congrats! The Warriors’ Larry MacDonald led the wins with four of five matches, followed by Kelly Kovacs and Fish Trouton – each garnering three wins. Kelly Kovacs was high scorer for the Warriors, shooting 140, 135 and 100 x 2.

The Eagles Straight Arrows hosted the Allwood Finishers and trounced the Finishers’ 20-13. The Arrows’ Paul Reimer led the wins with five for five, followed by Sonja Twamley with four wins. Top scorer for the Arrows was league newcomer, Thomas Connelly, with a 140. The Finisher’s Larry Fuller missed only one opportunity to double out, leading the wins with four, followed by Gerry James with three wins in five games. Gerry was the team’s top scorer with a 140 and a 134. Team Captain Jolene Swanson shot a 132 and 126 but couldn’t double out more than once all night.

Hosting the newest team in the league, the Qualicum Beach Legion B-Sharps were bested by the X-Men 19 to 14. Top wins went to the X-Men’s Glen Dilworth, with four out of four matches to his credit. Pony Moore shot a 140, 122 and a 100 to become the team’s top scorer for the night. With a full eight player roster, the B-Sharps Arless McNeill held the most wins of the night with three of four games coming out in his favour. Top scorers for the B-Sharp’s were Arless McNeill and Stan Moffit – each achieving a top score of 108.

Week 8 Results
Qualicum Legion B-Sharps hosted the Qualicum Legion Warriors with the Warriors taking the wins 24 to 9. Newcomer Larry MacDonald and Fish Trouton won all five of their matches, Captain Ruth Kovacs followed up with four out of six wins for the night. Top Scorer for the Warriors was Ron Hession with a 132. The Top Scorer for the B-Sharps was Captain Colleen McNeill with a 138.

Week 9 Results
The Qualicum Legion B-Sharps hosted the Parksville Legion’s Bulls Hitters and it was a close match, until the last set, when the Bulls Hitters took all five games to win the match 19-14. Leading the Hitters with four wins, Angie Kienas also scored a 140. Alan Farmer shot a 140, Peter Spinks a 133 and Ray had a high score of 125 and an 85 check out. The B-Sharps Arless McNeill led the team by winning all 4 of his matches. Anna Daschuk and Sue Foster were victorious three out of four times at the oche. Top scorer for the home team was Betty-Anne Moffitt with 118.

Cascadia’s Bristle Bashers met the Tool Shed Triples at the Parksville Legion for a predictable outcome of 29 to 4 for the Bashers. Top scorers for the Bristle Bashers were Terry Strawson - 140, Mike Driscoll -140x2, and Steve Collins – 140. Jim Hood of the Triples won two singles matches – one with a high out of 124 – and, along with Alan Barry, took out a doubles match against Terry Strawson and Noella Ross. Mike McNulty bested Don Enockson to capture the Triples fourth win of the night.

The Allwood Finishers gathered at the Eagles Hall to host the Qualicum Legion’s Short Sighted Crew. Good darts and good fun were had by all, but it was the Allwood Finishers’ day to finish on top – 19 to 14. Lead by Gerry James, who won all five of his matches, Larry Fuller missed only one game and Mike Jacobs won three of his five. Top scorer for the Finishers was Larry with 140, Anita Hopps with 134, and Gerry with a 133. The Qualicum Legion Short Sighted Crew’s triple threat – Steve Bird, Ron Stanley and Don Punter – each won three of their five matches and high score went to Anne O’Sullivan with a 140.

Qualicum Beach Legion Warriors hosted the Eagle’s Hall Straight Shooters, with the Warriors starting off strong winning all three doubles and all five games in their second set. But the Straight Arrows stayed the course and doubled out more games the last three sets. Final score was close – 18 to 15 for the QB Warriors. Adding to his existing perfect score, Fish Trouton shot a 180 and a 121 against Shirley Ewert in the second set, then took a long time before doubling out, giving Shirley plenty of time to catch up those 301 points. Larry MacDonald and Kelly Kovacs were also top wins for the team – four of five each went in their favour. Top scores went to Larry with 140 and 134, Kelly shot 138 and 125. Captain Shirley Ewert lead her team with four wins out of five, followed by Paul Reimer with three out of five. Top scorer for the Arrows was Paul with 125. Congrats to Fish Trouton on his 2nd Perfect Score of the season.

Veterans to the District 69 Dart League – Parksville Legion Shooters – hosted the League’s neophyte team – The X-Men, and it was the newcomers out-doubling the vets – winning 19 to 14. Captain Colin Adams and Glen Dilworth both won four of five matches and top scorer for the X-Men was Pony Moore with a 120. Captain Lloyd Ausland and Tom Ford led the Shooters with four wins each. Top scorer was Lorraine Hopps with a 121.
Don’t forget the Parksville Legion is hosting the Memorial Shoot this weekend – November 16 & 17th. Mixed doubles on Friday night, followed by Men’s and Ladies Singles and Doubles on Saturday.
