Week 21 Dart Action
Hosting the Comfort Group X-Men at the Qualicum Legion, the Allwood Finishers began the dart match strong and kept the lead right through to the end of the night – final score 19 to 14 for the Finishers. Leading the wins for the Home Team, Gerry James couldn’t be defeated, Richard Rempel was right behind Gerry with four wins, and Larry Fuller had three wins and team high score of 140. Leading the wins for the Away Team, X-Men’s Glen Dilworth tucked four wins into the doubles, followed by three wins each from Steve Stewart and Todd Burnham. Team high Score – 134 – was shot by Captain Pony Moore.

Playing at the Parksville Legion, The Legion Shooters showed the Qualicum Legion Bulls Hitters why the Shooters are in second place in the league. Putting on the pressure from the first set of doubles, the Shooters doubled out twenty of thirty-three matches. Leading the wins for the Shooters, Thom Ford was victorious in five of his six matches and had scores of 132, 105x2, 101 and 100. Bringing four wins each to the total, George Wallis and Larry MacDonald, had team High Out – 89 – and High Score – 140 – respectively. Top wins for the Bulls Hitters was Ray Jones with four wins in six games and scores of 140, 112 and 100. Top Scorer for the Bulls Hitters, Alan Farmer, shot scores of 156, 140 and 100 and added three wins to the team total.

Toe-ing up to the oche at the Eagles Hall, the Toolshed Triples hosted the Short Sighted Crew to thirty three games of darts. Giving the Crew a run for their money at the start of the match, the Toolshed Triples lost their momentum half-way through and were defeated 21 to 12. Leading the Short Sighted Crew, Peter Bisiker and Captain Don Punter, were both unbeatable Tuesday night, bringing 12 of the 21 wins just between the two of them. Leading the wins for Triples was a three way tie between Jim Hood, Duane Sharp and Greg Holmes and team high score – 134 – was shot by Greg Holmes.

Also playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes brought the fun against the Cascadia Bristle Bashers, and took eight wins from the top team in the league. The Basher’s Terry Strawson and Steve Collins won six for six and Terry shot two 140’s, along with two tons, to be team High Scorer. Leading the wins for Eagle Eyes, Captain Mike McNulty won three of his five matches, one with a high out of 73. Team High score – 137 – was shared between Tedd Ducker and Alan Barry.

Fun and flights were flying between the fifteen players at the Qualicum Legion Tuesday night. It was definitely a party atmosphere when the eight-member Qualicum Legion B-Sharps hosted the seven-member Eagles Hall Straight Arrows to an evenly matched night of darts. Leading the wins in the end, the B-Sharps came away with 18 wins over the Arrows’ 15. Captain Colleen McNeill led the B-Sharps wins with no losses in four games. Supporting the Captain, Arless McNeill won three of his four games and shot team high score of 120. Leading the fun and wins for the Straight Arrows, John Curtis and Poul Reimer, each won four of five matches and John had team High Score of 134 and High Out of 112.

Week 19 Dart Action
Playing at the Parksville Legion on Tuesday night, the Cascadia Bristle Bashers hosted the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows. Despite taking an early lead, the Bristle Bashers were not the run-away winners of the match. The Straight Arrows took 14 wins against the Basher’s 19 wins. Leading the wins for the Bashers was Steve Collins with four of five matches in his favour, followed by a three way tie of three wins each for Terry Strawson, Dustin Fee and Captain Mike Driscoll. High Score – 140, along with a 116 and 100 x 4 – was shot by Terry Strawson. Leading the wins for the Straight Arrows, Ron Keast doubled out four of his five matches and was backed up by three wins from Poul Reimer. Team High Score – 140 – was shot by Don McIlhargey.

Meeting at the Qualicum Legion, the Island Equipment Rental Warriors were hosted by the Legion’s Short Sighted Crew. The Crew were in fine form, taking the Warriors 23 to 10. Fresh from a fabulous vacation, Peter Bisiker lead the wins for the Crew, taking all five of his games. Lee Page and Darren Field shored up the wins with four each. Team Top Score of 140 was shot by both Peter Bisiker and Lee Page, Lee also got another 140 and scores of 126, 125, 110 and 100 x 2. Darren Tabler was the Warriors top scorer on Tuesday night, doubling out three of his five matches. Ron Hession hit the team High Score of 108.

Also playing at the Qualicum Legion, the Legion’s B-Sharps met with the Comfort Group X-Men for a closely played night of darts. Pretty evenly matched up to the fourth set, the X-Men pulled ahead and won the match 18 to 15. Leading the wins for the X-Men, Dave Wishlow was successful in five of his six games. Glen Dilworth and Fraser Vincent took four wins each from the B-Sharps, and Glen had team High Score of 140. Leading the wins for the B-Sharps, Arless and Colleen McNeill both won three of their five matches, and Colleen shot the team High Score of 136 – Ladies High Score for the League this week.

The Parksville Legion Shooters hosted the Toolshed Triples at their home venue Tuesday night, and ran away with the match, winning 29 to 4. After taking two of the doubles matches, the Toolshed Triples’ Duane Sharp had a Goliath win against the Shooter’s Thom Ford and Captain Wendy Haines took one away from George Wallis. Top Scorer of the night was the Shooters’ Lloyd Ausland, who shot a 140.

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Eagle Eyes met with the Qualicum Legion Bulls Hitters, for a closely matched night of darts. It was the five wins in the Eagle Eyes third set that cemented the wins for the home team – final score 19 to 14. Leading the wins for Eagle Eyes, Captain Mike McNulty and Tedd Ducker put four wins each on the score sheet. High Scorer for the Eyes, Mike McNulty shot a 140 and a 120. Leading the wins for the Bulls Hitter, spare Rocky Paquette brought his A-Game and won four of six matches. High Scorer for the Bulls Hitters was Barb Marsh with a 117.

Week 20 Dart Highlights
Playing at the Parksville Legion, The Island Equipment Rental Warriors hosted the Qualicum Legion B-Sharps Tuesday night. Evenly matched throughout most of the sets, the Warriors pulled ahead in the final leg winning four of their last five games to pull ahead of the B-Sharps with a 17 to 16 victory. Leading the wins for the Warriors, acting Captain Ron Hession, with scores of 100x3, and spare Colin Adams, with scores of 121 & 100, each won four of their five games. High Score for the team – 140 – was shot by Fish Trouton. Leading the wins for the B-Sharps was the unbeatable Arless McNeill, who captured the double out in all five of his matches. Captain Colleen McNeill had team High Score of 120.

The Qualicum Legion Short Sighted Crew met with the top team in the league – The Cascadia Bristle Bashers – and were swept away by the Bashers - final score 24 to 9 for the Bashers. Leading the wins for the Bristle Bashers, Terry Strawson was undefeated in all five matches and hit scores of 123, 121,120, 100x5. Losing only one game each, Steve Collins, Don Enockson and Dustin Fee, added twelve points to the teams’ total. Team High Score – 140 – was scored by Dustin Fee. Leading the wins for the Crew, Ernie Berrow showed his slow and steady pace effectively, winning three of his six matches. Team High Score – 133 – went to Darren Field.

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Straight Arrows gave the Allwood Finishers a run for their money Tuesday night. However, winning three sets of doubles and two sets of 4-1 for the Finishers gave the Finishers the upper hand at the end of the night. Final score 21 to 12 for the Allwood Finishers. Leading the wins for the Finishers, Larry Fuller and Richard Rempel doubled out in four of their five matches, and Larry had team High Score of 122, along with 100x2. Bolstering their score, Gerry James and Captain Jolene Swanson each won three matches. Leading the wins for the Straight Arrows, Poul Reimer was first to the double in four of his five matches. Don McIlhargey, in addition to hitting team High Score of 121, also had his 2019-2020 Season first Perfect Score! Congrats on the 180 Don!

The six Parksville Legion Shooters took on the seven Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes and the Shooters outshot the Eagle Eyes, resulting in an overwhelming win of 25 to 8 for the Shooters. The Shooters were on fire Tuesday night, Larry MacDonald and George Wallis were unbeatable, and Thom Ford and Captain Lloyd Ausland were right behind them with only one loss each. Top score for the Shooters was achieved by Lorraine Hopps, who shot 133x2 and 100x2. Leading the Eagle Eyes for wins, Tedd Ducker took three of his five matches, and Captain Mike McNulty hit the High Score of 138.

In a last minute venue switch, the X-Men hosted the Toolshed Triples at the Eagles Hall Tuesday night. Despite not playing at Home, the X-Men were able to take the match, winning 23 games to the Toolshed’s 10. Leading the wins for the X-Men, Glen Dilworth was unbeatable, followed closely by Todd Burnham, who had five wins in six games, as well as the team’s High Score of 140. Leading the wins for the Away team, Toolshed’s Jim Hood doubled out three of his five matches, and had the League’s Week High Out of 118. It’s not quite enough to surpass his season High Out of 120, which leaves him sitting solidly in the #2 spot on the Leader Board.
