Week 5 Winter
The final matches of the Winter Season A-Division were well played by all.
The Qualicum Legion Short Sighted Crew hosted their final match of the season against the Parksville Legion Bulls Hitters. Closely matched all evening, the Short Sighted Crew pulled ahead in the last two sets to overcome the Bulls Hitters 18 to 15. The Crew’s newest member, Greg Simmons, jumped onto the Leader Board with a 92 check out and a perfect score of 180 – as well as winning five of his six matches. Peter Bisiker also won five of six matches and had high scores of 125, 108 and 100x2. Battling for the Bulls, Bernie Brockway and Ray Jones each won three of five matches. Ray had high score of 125 and Alan Farmer landed on the Leader Board with an 83 check out.

Eagles Hall was the venue and fun was on the menu when the Allwood Finishers played their final match against the Qualicum Beach Warriors. A slow start by the Finishers resulted in a 16-17 loss to the Warriors. Ron Hession’s improved darts were on display as he doubled out before Larry Fuller in the final set, putting the Warriors one point ahead. Fish Trouton won 4 of his 5 matches and had high score of 140, 125, 105, 100x2. Larry MacDonald went straight to the top of the Leader Board with a high check out of 126 in his first singles game of the night. Larry Fuller, Anita Hopps and Gerry James pulled their weight by winning 3 of 5 games – Larry had a high check out of 112 and a top score of 104.

The Parksville Legion hosted the Cascadia Bristle Bashers and the Parksville Legion Shooters. Good shooting from both teams, with lots of great scores from both teams, probably meant everyone got to go home early after the Bristle Bashers won 28 of the 33 matches. Leading the wins for the Bashers, Richard Rempel won all five of his games, hitting top scores of 121x2 and 100x3. Following closely behind – with four wins each – Terry Strawson, Don Enockson and Steve Collins – cemented the win for the team. Leaping to the top of the Leader Board, Terry Strawson shot a 154 check out in his second game of the night. Thom Ford led the wins for the Shooters with 3 of 5 in his favour, and a high score of 133. Viviane Papineau landed on the Leader Board with a high score of 131.

Well, that’s a wrap for another season, fellow dart players.
I truly hope you all had as much fun as I did. Playing darts, socializing every Tuesday with our team mates – as well as our opponents - while learning how to better our own game through the collective knowledge of the league members. Having FUN – THAT’S what it is all about!
Peace out...‘til NEXT season!
