Website Update
With the new season upon us, I would like to remind all the players about the slight changes to the way ‘marks’ are recorded. Any time a player scores 100 or more or doubles-out on 81 or higher, it needs to be CLEARLY written down on the score sheet. The new website enables us to accurately track our marks over the course of the season. Therefore, you will be able to see how you stack up against the other players in the league beyond simply wins and losses.
Another new feature of the website is the player rating system. Victories and defeats are weighted depending on the quality of the opponent. For example, if you are the fifteenth ranked player in the league and you beat the number one seed, your points on the rating system will increase a lot more than if you had won against someone lower ranked than you. On the other hand, if you are a highly ranked player but lose to someone near the bottom of the table, your rating points will plummet.
For the purists out there, the tradition rankings based on wins and losses is still a part of the league’s website. Find statistics and click on the link called ‘Player Win Ratio’ and you will find everyone’s record.
I hope this clears up a few things before the league starts on Tuesday. Good luck and shoot well!
