Playing at the Qualicum Legion, the Allwood Finishers hosted top team – Cascadia Bristle Bashers – to a well-played night of darts. Unfortunately there can only be one winner in a match, despite how well both players threw darts, and the Bristle Bashers doubled-out first 20 times compared to 13 wins for the Finishers. Leading the wins for the Bashers, Terry Strawson won four of his five matches and shot team High Score of 140, followed by Noella Hopps and Warren Potter, each winning three of their five matches. Noella was throwing some pretty hot darts Tuesday night, garnering scores of 117x2, 120, 123 and 133. She attributed this to changing her stance at the oche, proving that it’s never too late to try something new at darts. Leading the wins for the Finishers, Larry Fuller won four of his six matches, and shot scores of 100 and 133. Right behind Larry, Richard Rempel, Gerry James and Anita Hopps won three of their six matches. Anita shot the team’s High Score of 140. Despite winning zero games, Captain Jolene Swanson shot a season record high (for her) of 130 and kept the Bashers on their toes trying to best her all evening long.

Playing at the Eagles Hall, the Straight Arrows hosted the Qualicum Legion Bulls Hitters, to a fun-filled closely matched night of darts. Each team won the same number of singles games, so it was the three wins of the doubles at the start of the night that put the Straight Arrows in the lead at the end of the night. Final score 18 to 15 for the Arrows. Leading the wins for the Arrows, both John Curtis and Poul Reimer won four of their five matches, followed closely behind by Ron Keast with three wins in five games. High score – 140 – was shared by Don McIlhargey and Poul Reimer. It was Ladies Night for the Bulls Hitters as Angie Kienas has recovered enough from her broken (so it turned out) foot enough to win four of her five matches to lead the team in wins for the night. High Scorer for the Bulls Hitters was the other Femme Fatale on the team – Barb Marsh – who shot a 140!

Leading the wins, Larry McDonald was unbeatable in all six of his games; he also shot team High Score – 125 – and team High Out – 105. Way to go Larry! Leading the wins for the Allwood Finishers, Anita Hopps doubled out in four of her five matches, shot High Score of 140 and High Out of 89, putting her on the Leader Board for Ladies’ High Out.
